Elemental Forms, Landscape

Nikolova’s artistic practice is deeply rooted in her daily rituals and her connection to the natural world. Her process involves walking in the redwood forests near her home where she responds intuitively to the landscape, reflecting her belief in the concept of immanence. Her profound love for nature and concern about humanity’s impact on the environment are recurring themes in her work, which expresses a sense of loss and fragility. Yet, there is also a sense of hope, rooted in her belief in humanity and spirituality. She reimagines the landscape by creating “frames of perception”—through openings, portals, and doorways—suggesting new possibilities for relating to the world. “My work becomes a portal to a place outside of space and time... it aims to evoke mystery and awe, inviting contemplation and stillness, speaking to beauty and hope.”
