Album Covers
Music has been a significant influence in the Starns’ lives since growing up in the 1970s, and the Album Covers series invites the viewer to engage with music physically. Paintings like Raw Pow-wer and Can You Feeeeeeeeeeel It?! challenge the viewer to pick up an album cover, interact with it, and experience the physicality of the artwork. The Starns have painted over the album notes, further inviting the audience to connect with the artwork through touch and reflection.
