Attracted to Light
Doug and Mike Starn have long been captivated by the metaphorical symbolism of light and the sun—emblems of knowledge and enlightenment across various cultures. For their Attracted to Light series, the artists used a macro lens to capture moths and other insects drawn to the glow of a lamp. The resulting photographs present these delicate creatures as individual portraits, highlighting their fragility.
