HackelBury Fine Art, London 6:00 - 8:00pm

HackelBury invites you to an In Conversation between Emma Crichton-Miller, journalist, critic and writer, and Marcus Bury, Co-Founder of HackelBury, on Wednesday 25 February.

The conversation will begin at 6:30 pm and discuss the Starns’ working methods and their enduring engagement with material, process, and impermanence. This event coincides with our current exhibtion, A Tragedy of Infinite Beauty, a solo how presenting the works of Doug & Mike Starn.

The twins present new works which reflect on impermanence, perception, and the tension between beauty and destruction. The two series on view, Under the Sky and Everything Is Liquid, explore the overwhelming yet often unnoticed forces - atmospheric, emotional, geological, and cultural - which shape our lives.

Emma Crichton-Miller is a freelance journalist and author writing on fine art, design, ceramics, collecting, textiles and books for the Financial Times, US magazine Art & Object, RA Magazine, Prospect Magazine, Crafts and Blueprint. She writes a monthly column on the art market for art magazine, Apollo, and is the founding Editor in Chief of The Design Edit, an online magazine dedicated to collectable design.

We look forward to welcoming you!
