This group exhibition brings together works that have shaped HackelBury Fine Art’s identity across the decades. From modernist masters such as Edward Weston, Margaret Bourke-White, Consuelo Kanaga, Ellen Auerbach, Berenice Abbott and Arnold Newman to influential contemporary voices including Seydou Keïta, Malick Sidibé, Joanne Leonard, Doug & Mike Starn, Bill Armstrong and others, this exhibition celebrates the artists who have defined our past and continue to inspire our future.
These images, ranging from Irving Penn’s Cigarette No. 82 and William Klein’s exuberant Painted Contact to Elliott Erwitt’s unforgettable moments with Marilyn Monroe, landscapes of Wyoming and intimate gestures of affection, reflect the personal and artistic relationships at the heart of the gallery’s story.
A look back with selections made by gallery founders Sascha Hackel and Marcus Bury and the gallery team, the exhibition is a celebration of favourites and a tribute to the artists who make HackelBury what it is.
