Sharon Walters will be delivering Piecing together our histories: Making collage portraits with archival materials workshop at National Portrait Gallery.
Sharon writes: "This takes place just ahead of the unveiling and display of my National Portrait Gallery. commissioned and acquired collage portrait featuring political and social activists, and radical black publishers, Eric and Jessica Huntley. Creating this work remains one of my greatest achievements, it was a huge honour to make the piece. I have a close connection with the legendary couple as I attended their Saturday school as a child. The school educated, supported and inspired black children of the African diaspora."
